Ibotta pays people real cash for everyday shopping, and people love it until something goes wrong. A receipt gets rejected, money gets held, or an account gets shut off with no explanation. I read through the public complaints, found the three moments where trust breaks, and designed the screens that fix them. Each one shows what happened, why it happened, and what to do next.
Independent concept. All account data is fictional. Not affiliated with or commissioned by Ibotta.
Why these three screens. The complaints all point to the same three places, rejected receipts, paused accounts, and held money, and Ibotta's own help center shows the strain. I used the same playbook as my CVS account work. Show people where they stand, tell them why, and give them a real next step.

One receipt, one accountA receipt submitted twice, or from another shopper, pauses that receipt for review.

03 · An appeal with a person and a deadline in it
Status a person can seeNeeds a look instead of rejected, the balance explicitly protected, and the difference between an item pausing and an account pausing made visible. Fear comes from ambiguity, not from rules.
Reasons a person can readEvery flagged item names the rule involved and shows the evidence. This is the CVS account pattern, completion and trust rise when the system explains itself in the moment.
A path a person can act onResubmit, appeal, or accept, each one a real button with a real deadline. Appeals show their history and their outcomes, which teaches users the system is fair before they ever need it.
Built from their own evidence
These screens came from a design teardown of Ibotta's public properties, complaint platform themes, deactivation, rejected receipts, locked withdrawals, and a help center that promotes its own wait time articles. The gap between a modern product and a 1.8 star reputation is trust UX in the money moments, and that is the work I have done for millions of accounts. See the CVS account work this builds on

From receipts to a working bank.
Ibotta was one moment of trust. CoBank is a whole member portal, rebuilt line for line from its own help guides, next to my redesign where every control works. It is on the right.
